Grão Cia de Dança
THE CLIENT
"Grão Cia de Dança: o movimento de um olhar" is a book-object which portrays conceptual and movement research carried out by Grão - a dance company based in Florianópolis - between 2012 and 2016.
THE CHALLENGE
To develop a book-object that represents the concepts and movement studies conducted by the company "Grão Cia de Dança", reinforcing the poetic identity of the group, through a playful reading experience with sensory and cognitive stimuli.
THE SOLUTION
Each book explores five core concepts: "Moebius" reflects on choice, dizziness, and chains, while "Redes" delves into belonging, listening, and interdependence. The themes are designed to stimulate senses and reinterpret the product with each interaction. The book’s unique structure rotates 180 degrees at the center, featuring mirrored dancers to emphasize its non-linear narrative.
The covers use scanimation for movement, with the brand’s circular design reflecting "grain" elements. Seven copies were silkscreen printed using various materials like acetate and PVC. Collaboration with Grão Cia dancers ensured an immersive, playful experience that invites sensory and cognitive engagement.
